Shenasa: Speaker Recognition by Voice

Shenasa is the speaker identification application that can be used in a variety of fields such as security and user access grant, by itself or on top of other security measures. Recognition of a voice among multiple speakers, and verifying the identity of speaker are some of the abilities of this application. Shenasa can be used as a stand-alone windows-based application which includes multiple capabilities, such as audio file processing, microphone voice processing, group creation and many other. Speaker Verification (Identity Authentication)


The voice of a user as one of their unique biometric features, along with other security measures such as password, identity card and fingerprint, can be used to verity their identity. In the process of authentication, the system determines whether users are who they claim to be. Speaker verification by voice is used in telephony services such as access grand in bank telephony services. In order to use Shenasa service (SDK), first users’ voices should be learnt and trained by the system. Identification in Shenasa is done by text-dependent methods, in such a way that users are to read a predetermined text in order to be verified.


Speaker Recognition by Voice


Human voice is a unique biometric feature that is used by Shenasa to identify the speaker. In the process of speaker verification, information is extracted from the input signal of the user’s voice, which leads to the identification of the speaker. One the advantages of voice recognition is that speakers can always use their voice, at any place, time or condition, to receive access, unlike keys or passwords which could be lost or forgotten. Additionally, unlike other biometric features such as Iris verification or fingerprint which requires the physical presence of the user, people can simply receive access into their account by talking into the phone or by internet, from any place. Shenasa training and verification are independent, that is different texts can be read into Shenasa for when it is learning the speaker’s voice, and for when it is identifying the user.
